Recently The French Door Day Spa in Decatur participated in Dinner for a Cure to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Owner Pam French has found her mission working with breast cancer patients. French realized the need to support breast cancer research while watching her mother, Inez Reid, battle the disease. Reid, now a breast cancer survivor, French and her staff joined the national campaign to raise awareness.
More than 50 guests attended this evening of fun and frolic, including several breast cancer survivors like Reid: Liddie May Redding, Margaret Dunnivant, Patsy Carter, Carol Chew, Jackie McElrath, Dawna Fulmer and Nancy Watts.
Hors d'oeuvres included chicken salad, pimento cheese sandwiches, pasta salad, strawberry pretzel salad and brownies. Justin Miller provided musical entertainment, and French even sang a few songs for the enthusiastic crowd of women in pink dining for a cure.
